And I don't think you are putting down Mike Stern. The nature of the world now is a race to the bottom, the loudest dumbest person in the room wins because they keep going while everyone else silently logs off.

This is me realizing I'm being pretty loud in the room right now.... uh oh

As it relates to my comment: I was just providing a macro POV. E.g. take kidnapping of a child: the macro POV by authorities, as it relates to the overall good for society, is to not agree to the kidnappers demands since that incentivizes the criminals and leads to more kidnapping.

The micro POV of the family is get their child back and thus pay the ransom. But just because authorities have their macro POV, doesn't mean they are not empathic of the micro POV. In fact, their empathy for the micro POV is what leads to the macro POV.

Thus, the authorities don't have to have had their own child kidnapped otherwise they "don’t know what there're talking about".

Speaking about the WELL (the Whole Earth 'Lectronic Link) in the early 90s, Robert Hunter commented "we all got a chance to see what untrammeled democracy really is in such a context, firsthand. Anarchy. The ascendancy of the shrill and the exodus of the thoughtful." The real world now mirrors the online world closely as our virtual behavior continues to condition our IRL behavior.

Bruce Forman guest-hosted last night, using a new guitar which appears to be a Westville, with a CC pickup. He said that Barney's guitar needs a rest for awhile. Frank will be back on Jan 1, no show on Christmas Day.

Ah, I was just beginning to wonder if yesterday night was another "unlistenable" one because it isn't listed under "Frank Vignola's guitar night"

Not that it matters, but if FV picks his own replacement for the times he isn't there wouldn't it still be "his" guitar night?

If it was my night yes. I would call it "Frank Vignola's Guitar Night With Special Guest Host Bruce Foreman." Keep your name on the banner.

If you say so ... I was more intrigued he appears to be wearing a beige/tan version of one of my Akubras
(while the video's presentation frame looks more like this was going to be a country night )

Westville made a special red ATC350BK for him in their most recent batch.

Yes, that looks like it. He said he ordered a red one to match his eyes. About the same color as his Sonntag.

He always wears that hat, often with a feather in the band. His band Cow Bop does western music as bebop.

You can just click the bell on the Radio Free Birdland YouTube page and get reminders. I don't do that with many YouTube channels, although the creator begs viewers to do it in almost every video, but it's worth it for a few channels. RFB is one of them.

Am I overlooking the one from wed. Jan 15th, or was it one of the stern stealth/stealthy stern nights?

That was a Mike Stern night. Bob Mintzer sat in too. A few audience-filmed clips appeared on Instagram.

As I thought then, not one I would personally not want to miss, thanks.

Three amazing players having fun together. What’s not to like? Vignola’s tone truly is next level BTW.

Honestly,i find the whole Stern thing to be wacky that they can't rebroadcast Guitar Night when he appears. Most times i am not able to watch live and look forward to watch it the next day. Can't they just turn off comments when he is a guest? There's a whole bunch of Stern video's on Youtube and he seems to get mostly praise in the comment section.Do all his detractors only comment when he appears on Guitar Night?

I'm on the side of Mike Stern. He doesn't deserve to be cyber-bullied. We don't know how it was getting to him, he could have been getting ripped apart on his social media or in his emails, not just the comment section.
