It's actually a little bit snarky even in the US, which was intended.

I guess I'll have to take my observation back then.
So I'm guessing the reason more accomplished musicians don't spend time on here is that they'd rather talk to be people about music than be heckled from the cheap seats.

Next time anyone feels that urge I'll have to flag the post.

I would note that, for a conversation about Mike Stern being overly sensitive to internet trolls, the sensitivity level is running rather high.

Very big talk from people who won't even post a clip in the melody thread...

Thanks for providing my big-smile-of-the-day!

Also note; I hope I didn't imply that Stern was being overly sensitive. I.e. I didn't intent to comment on how one should feel and\or one's feelings but instead how one reacts to said feelings. i.e. their actions not feelings. I just object with suppression of content, as well as letting trolls win by getting people to suppress content.

So snarky, yes. But …. do you often subject yourself to potential negative feedback by publicly sharing your performances?

I will note once again that, for a conversation about Mike Stern being overly sensitive to internet trolls, the sensitivity level is running rather high.

A bit self referential, bruv?

As for your question to a professional: Anytime a professional is out-there they subject themselves to potential negative feedback (from trolls or professional critics). For acting there are even annual awards for poor performances. Putting oneself out-there, period, is just part of being a professional. I'm sorry if people at this forum feel that is some type of attack at professionals in general or Stern specifically.
-
The question applies because, with all due respect, you don't really have the relevant experience in this area to be critical of how someone like Mike Stern chooses to handle people being jerks about his performance.

To the Moderators,
I love this thread, please don’t close it down because of the current direction of this discussion.

Tonight
5 February 2025
Guitar Night celebrates Gene Bertoncini, with Pasquale Grasso, Jimmy Bruno and Rodney Jones guesting.
-
Good point. I just hope that, since jerks will never go away, that they don't have additional impact on the health of others.

A funny observation, Jimmy's tie is a match for his fret markers, and Frank's is also colour coordonated with his guitar as is Garry's with his bass.
Oh, and Frank's timer watch on his amp
somewhat retro in this digital age, as they say.

That may be the only tie Gary owns, or maybe he has multiple identical ones.
-
Someone gifted Bruno that 175 he has talked about it on his YouTube channel a few times.
-
Nice to see Bruno playing with Frank and Pasquale.
