Seriously, Congo's keeper was brilliant. Too bad, they deserved the win just for his performance...
Kane really is clutch, gotta give it to him. But I sure hope I don't hear Wonderwall again.

Mexico v England
-
Engaland Engaland Engaland! Well done boys, well done! Football is coming home hahaha
-
-
It's going to be an incredible atmosphere in the Mexican home stadium!
-
Congo didn't deserve a win, they scored one goal and seated back all the game hoping it will stand. Even after 1-1 they kept parking the bus hoping to get to the penalties shoot out. They could win if they really wanted, England wasn't better, just more resilent.

Have you seen the second Senegal goal against Belgium? Seek it out if you haven’t. Stunning!
-
-
Even better
-
Wow. I did not see that result coming in the Belgium-Senegal match. Incredible last five minutes.

I was complaining last night that the tournament was predictable.
i got up this morning to find England down by one at the half to Congo and I wondered whether that supported or controverted my theses.
So far the favourites are advancing.

Fair comment about Germany. I often think Netherlands is still coasting on its 70s total football reputation.
-
USA winning with a man sent off due to a ridiculous Ref decision. This was a fantastic Team achievement.
-
Ridiculous? He scraped his studs down the guy's calf, then nearly broke his ankle. If I assume that was all innocent, I still have to call him out for dangerous incompetence.
-
My mother was texting me confused about that call. I told her it was like "manslaughter" in the fact it was not malignant (like murder) but the incompetence requires punishment.
maybe a hyperbolic analogy but she seemed to understand.
that being said it was impressive how they played minus a man. However he will be sorely missed in the next round.
-
He accidently stood on his ankle, so usually it's a yellow card.

Spain warming up to be serious contenders.
