I woke up, opened FB and was greeted by posts from a famous French guitar player complaining that Paraguay team was disgrace, played super dirty and targeting French players all game. Now checking the highlights, he's not wrong....
-
It has only just dawned on me that a world championship is currently taking place somewhere, with hordes of more or less skillful people chasing a ball across the grass—all of them evidently driven by major financial worries.
-
After watching the ponderous France game, my money is still firmly on Spain winning the 2026 World Cup.

Haha. Made my day!

nooo Norway beats Brazil?? What world are we living in? It's pure Mayhem! Norway took them on and was hunting high and low for the goal, and they got it!
-
England fighted like true lions, unbelievable, even with the little help of the referee Mexico couldn't break them, what a thriller!
-
England's goalie saved them in the end.
-
Well done England, and Norway too. Those were big-match results, and deserve credit.
And now they face each other!
-
the corruption at this tournament is off the charts. enjoy the show, lol.
-
For sure. It’s disgusting! Worse there has ever been for a sports tournament, I’ll bet.
-
What a shame !
Trump buys FIFA so that the USteam wins against Belgian Red Devils..disgusting

Mexico were tactically very naive, almost Schoolboy football tactics, against extremely talented England counter attacks.
Then Mexico tried to play thru the middle of England's 10 man defence, they should have pulled England's 10 man defence out of the box leaving space to attack.
With better tactics Mexico would have beat England's 10 man defence, I was surprised at Mexico's naivety.
Well done England fantastic performance, against the odds.
Brazil were awful against Norway, truly dire.
England won't worry about playing Norway's one big man team, they play against him every week.
-
And he scores against them every week!

Well, Trump did phone Infantino, Head of FIFA. And following that call the red card was for all intents and purposes undone. Both men should go and live on a Love Island together, with no one else. Forever.

My money still on Belgium thou. Who's the player Trump bailed out, never heard of him, is he as good as Messi, or Kane, or Haaland? Anyway it would be better for the world if Belgium get through.
-
This American, isn't watching another game but will be rooting for Belgium.

It's unfortunate that this reflects so poorly on the team, when the team literally had NOTHING to do with making phone calls. I'm not sure if everyone had Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the commentators at half time and post game, but they both said the red card wasn't warranted. Zlatan actually said, "If the right call had been made, this wouldn't have happened". But...it did happen, and persons who don't even know what a red card is should have stayed the hell out of it. Every game has bad calls one way or another, it's just part of the game and you live with it if it happens to you and you stay the hell out if it doesn't affect you at all.
If I was the coach of USMNT I would sit Balogun tonight, but I'm not going to root against them either way because they had no hand in this. I guess "The Hand of God" will now have company in "The Phone of Trump"
