I first saw him around that time (I was at university up north), I'm pretty sure he was with the same trio. Fantastic gig.

I'll always remember it, because in the interval he came over to me (I was at a table right at the front), inspected me, decided I looked trustworthy, laid his vintage Gibson on the table and said 'would you mind looking after that while I go to the bar'!

Unfortunately, I never saw Louis Stewart at his best, but I did see him play live.

Louis Stewart is mentioned frequently as a great by many older UK Jazz guitarists.

Chet was doing that in 4/4 which was different. But I'd still only take the Kind Of Blue version to the desert island. I like that one.
