    Music is not a competition.
On the Guitar Forum, each person can rate and express their opinion about a given artist.
There are many guitarists who have played with M. Davis.I think there were about 8 of these guitarists.
    The most famous are:
    John McLaughlin
    Mike Stern
    John Scofield
    Robben Ford

Oh, look, the self-appointed Chief of the Jazz Police, if not the forum itself, has graciously given us his permission to opine about the music we hear. Very good of you, Sir, we are more than grateful.

I heard the other day that Liebman advised someone who wasn't sure about a solo he had to do to 'confront the problem'. That's when I realised why he talks so much. Because he's nervous, if not something worse.

So that's probably what he does himself when soloing, confronts the problem. Which is why he sounds so forced, often harsh and grating, because he's attacking the solo head on and storming the gates, as it were.

Of course he doesn't do that so much when playing softer ballads because there's no need, it's not that heavy-duty fusion stuff, although the tendency is probably still there waiting round the corner.

Well, that clarifies that. Now we understand something. Well, I have.

George Benson played on one track from Miles In The Sky
Sonny Sharrock is on Jack Johnson
Dave Creamer plays on On the Corner
Reggie Lucas played with Miles a lot in the early/mid 70s (before going on to produce Madonna's first album)
Cornell Dupree played on a few things

Special mention: Pete Cosey played on Miles' mid-70s albums, like Pangaea, Dark Magus, Agharta. He plays fried out acid guitar, and is totally awesome (but has little to do with straight ahead "jazz" so depending on your tastes...)

Edit: I guess I should mention that none of these players are straight ahead jazz, except for George Benson. He wrote about the session he played with Miles, saying he had no idea what was going on. He played something and Miles liked it, and it was pretty much just that one session. It's a great tune (Paraphernalia)

    I love jazz.That is all.
If Ragman has the need to criticize professional jazz musicians, then I give up.
I can also leave this Forum if I am so harmful to jazz music.

You don't see the irony of that, Kris. You love jazz but you berate* people. That's the problem.

Yes, I'm a jazz psychopath and that's my advantage.
Let people think first before they write something, because I don't vouch for myself.
    It was just a joke
    Have a nice evening

I'm going to be less and less active here, so you should be happy.
