Also, would be nice to use the spacebar to start and start like on Youtube.

Regarding tempo, having the ability to tap the tempo you wanted would be very helpful.

Hi Mick...we did produce a LITE version for Android but pulled it after 3 months. We had to leave out some of the iOS features out of necessity although the audio was the same. Users felt short-changed so we suspended it rather than risk poor reviews. We are rethinking our Android offering. The big challenge is making it work smoothly on such a wide range of devices in a part of the market that isn't as 'regulated' as the Apple one.

We are increasing the responsive area around the +/- buttons to make it easier to change tempo PLUS there will be a pop up which will allow you to type in a desired tempo. This will be in either the November or January update.

Thanks for the response. I am really liking the app. My point was not so much making the tempo area bigger but to add the ability to tap out the tempo you wanted for the tune. Sometimes I don’t actually know the tempo number I want but I can tap out the tempo with my finger. Most metronome apps utilize this feature. I’m looking forward to seeing how this app develops over the next year.

Thanks. I see what you mean. That's not what we are building right now for the tempo feature but that could be an interesting additional option...thanks for suggesting it. You are the first to suggest that to us btw.

I tried to use the app using autoplay in a playlist with the 4 different Qtet apps.
Unfortunately the shift made the autoplay stop and a window reading PLAYLIST came up.
Then I had to click the PLAYLIST sign and sometimes I even had to go back and open my FAVORITE playlist again etc.
It messed away my overview of it all. I love the sound and playing, but I think it still works best as as a practice app.
I hope this helps. Thanks for taking time to response.

The workaround is to make sure that all 4 apps are open first but there will be a much better solution in the November update. Thanks. Paul

Paul, is there an official channel for reporting bugs and typos etc?

Quartet already comes with 8 x alternative mixes for each song. So for example Bass and Drums by themselves already exists for EVERY song and that's included.

We are however, looking at extending the in-app purchase so that mixes of solo instruments can also be played in the app. It's relatively easy for us to do, but we do need to protect the in-app purchase I'm afraid! Hope this makes sense.

I just want to chime in that I bought Quartet last week and I've been loving it. I've turned a number of my friends on to it as well. Thank you! I look forward to the updates and fixes!

That's kind of you to share D'Aquisto - thanks

Thanks for sharing and really glad you are enjoying Quartet. You know that from the September 3rd update, your "favourite" songs from any of the 4 apps appear in a new column in the song library as "favourites" and can be put into a favourites Playlist by just tapping the new button "Save favourites"? Tap the small white triangle to sort all of your favourites to the top of the list in this column.

Tapping the album artwork in your playlist will play any of the songs in that list if you don't want to auto-play the whole playlist.
We have an update coming at the beginning of November which will improve the signposting greatly. It's not right at the moment and needs much clearer singposting.
As for the contents of Quartet 5 which is out at the beginning of November, I am sworn to secrecy on this release I'm afraid, but for anyone who already has the Quartet 1-4 bundle it will only cost a few dollars/pounds to get it and its contents will sync with all of the other apps upon installation. Quartet 6 is already recorded too and it will be released in January.
Sharing between DEVICES (iPad, iPhone and Mac) is something we are still working on. We are hoping that this will be available for November but it might be January. In the meantime, you know you can EXPORT a playlist (My Playlists) and IMPORT it into the other device (My Playlists)?

Hello. I just purchased all four versions and as others have said, the sound is pretty awesome. I’m just beginning to dig in to it.
is there a reason why there are four separate apps? And when using do all four have to be active? Also if I make changes to a song, is it possible to still retain the original? I did a search for Half Nelson but nothing came up. I then searched Miles and saw Lady Bird which has same chording. Jonathan

Hi Jonathan. Thanks and thanks for sharing this. The main reason for separate apps is for marketing benefit. Our early apps (2012/2013) were single apps with lots of content as in-app purchase but it never really saw the light of day. When we produced separate apps (SessionBand), they enjoyed much more exposure and sold much better. But we like to think of each version of Quartet as a separate "album" of songs.

The apps auto-save any changes you make e.g. tempo, key, transposition, mix, count-in preference etc... but easy to restore any song to the original state. For count-in and transposition use global settings to revert to original state. For key, tap the current key (e.g. Eb) and press the pop-up "Reset key" and for tempo do the same. For mix, tap "Trio" mix.
I will feed back 'Half Nelson' to the producer as a song request. Thanks again.
