Man, Ed Cherry has a huge variety of guitars and he always sounds great on all of them.

That was a good one!

Nice tone by Pasquale, not as dark and tubby. I like a dark tone, but he overdoes it usually. Maybe it's different in person. Gibson ESD-125 or ES-150 and GA-50 amp (or a clone thereof?) for this one? And Frank too! Sounds great with the L-7 and McCarty pickup. Like a warm bath and a massage after.
-
I really like when Pasquale has the rich dark tone. The close intervals on chords explode when his tone is really dark. I don't know how else to put it. This was good too, I bet he'd sound good on a hello kitty guitar through a Gorilla GG-20

That really goes to show how we hear things differently. Rich nor dark are terms that come to mind when I think of his tone, which is just plain and annoyingly boring to my ears.

I haven’t watched one since Jimmy Bruno was on. Kids baseball has a killer schedule.

One upside of modern technology is that I can watch livestreams of his games without having to drive way over where they live. Things have changed since I was a kid. Now they're livestreaming games played by 8-year-olds, and they all have their own walk-up music. Good grief, Charlie Brown!
FWIW, the Guitar Night shows are on YouTube for watching at your leisure.

actually watching them?

That intro to My Funny Valentine was nice and then they played it with some swing. Really nice to hear a peppy version of the tune.

Has anyone else noticed ads on the Guitar Night videos on YouTube? I am halfway through one (Henry Acker and Pasquale Grasso, November 1, 2023) and 3 ads have interrupted the video so far. This hasn't happened before. I enjoy the show and watch it regularly. I don't know if it's for income, or if it's a YouTube thing to add ads, or some other reason. I do use AdBlock but sometimes ads get through it.

For YouTube, the channel has to manually turn off ads for each livestream. Maybe they forgot this time.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Ken did an exhaustive YouTube series on the Benny Goodman Trio sessions. Highly recommended along with the Guitar Night stream.
