I saw The Great Guitars (Herb Ellis, Barney Kessel, and Charlie Byrd version) at the Iowa State University Maintenance Shop circa 1978. Jaw dropping performance.

I was introduced to Herb, Barney and Charlie backstage at the Festival Hall in London by Ike Isaacs after a concert. Charlie was a real gentleman.

I have all five of their CDs available - please send a PM if you are interested. I am in the UK.

I used to frequent "Charlies" on K St in Georgetown. I was there for a recording of Great Guitars - great players, great music, great memories.

How is it? I attended other concerts at that Winery, it was a lovely outdoor setting. I imagine they enjoyed playing there, and I think they receive free samples of the house beverage, which is best enjoyed after the concert. I mention that because I saw Dave Van Ronk there and it was apparent he ignored that advice.

It's great, but I knew it was great. As I mentioned in my initial post, I had it on an old cassette back in the late 80s. I wore it out in the car. I have watched a lot of their performances on YT but couldn't find the track 'It's the talk of the Town'. So now I have it on CD!
