Looks like those major symbols - (triangles) or as I like to think of them: an orthographic view of a pyramid.

    Interesting.

Ooh! I just got Ragman's last post. Took me a while...

You have to refresh the code every time when editing, it won't re-post the symbol.

I liked your first post before you changed it.
It was an excellent explanation. And yes the triangle is not in this site's code so it defaults to a question mark.
So it must be typed in each time you use it. No copy and paste for the △
    Is that accurate?
    Thanks!

Sorry, I changed it because I thought I was being long-winded. Yes, that's accurate.

But, as I said before, it's probably far easier to type M7 than go through all this palaver with symbols. It's more important that people understand the symbols on lead sheets rather than using them here. And there aren't that many to understand anyway.

    The most used ones are

    Triangle (△) = Maj7. Also Fm/△ = Fm/Maj7.
    cut circle (ø) = m7b5
    minus (-) = minor (F-7 = Fm7)
    plus (+) = sharp 5 (F+ = Faug and F7+ = F7#5)
