Many of the real good Blues singers and Soul singers and players dont DO pitch, that is what bending notes is all about...some of the most heart wrenching notes are not 'pitched'
And of course this obsession now has caused the most horrendous muzac EVER with many of the plastic little over =produced illuminati puppets singing through that auto-tune so all the singing sounds robotical to match the 'music'. It is truly a nightmare to listen to. Oh and like its in an echo chamber also. All the soul has gone

I have heard this before. I love it. Very dreamy.

O, man, that brings back memories! I remember when Bongwater's "Breaking No New Ground" came out. I sent a postcard to Ann Magnuson and we ended up corresponding for two years. She told me about her small role in Alan Rudolph's "Love At Large," a movie I might otherwise have missed. Loved it---Neil Young does an odd turn in it and it closes with Leonard Cohen's "Ain't No Cure For Love." (On a non-musical note, Ted Levine has a great role in this movie---it's the best performance of his that I have seen.)
