^ Like I said, I'm fine with unsolicited comments. I genuinely don't understand what you're talking about. I literally posted a visual of the roots right on each downbeat of each chord. I'm not averse to using real bass backing tracks, I agree they sound better. But I wasn't aware I was required to do that or face an absurd pile on. Again, YOU CAN'T EVEN HEAR THE BASS IN JAMES'S RECORDING. Quit being ridiculous.

You're like deranged. It's you who have no respect, posing yourself as my teacher when I'm of equal skill to you. Further, you can't even find something wrong so you have to make something up. Unsolicited comments are fine, just be amicable, or at least rational.

So I face a pile on because of the quality of the backing track then? Right..

Yes, I understand that. I can use real bass if it makes it better for the listener.

That sounds helpful to put the bass master in the daw.

    ps.
You make great progress in your playing
Thanks Kris! I did pretty much no practice of the blues in this key so I'm glad that it came out sounding alright all things considered. Still lots of room for improvement I think...

P.S I can hear the bass on the backing track I use.

Strat, great playing and I don't gaf about backing tracks

James, my favorite playing of yours because of the more straight ahead lines...that's just a taste thing. It's interesting again how much your lines swing compared to the head

Thanks, Joe. The head is just two notes... I'm not sure how much more I could make it swing!

lol that's fair! I listened again and it swings. I think I was probably perceiving the 8th note in 3rd measure as straight instead of swung..so I guess "early?" Or maybe it was just a subjective vibe...I am avoiding using the unhelpful terms "confidence" and the dreaded "energy" Really good man, just ignore that part haha

Personally, I think yours is a very enjoyable modern version, I've played the track a few times. Those Phil Wilkinson Organ backing tracks have a fantastic groove.

Yeah, sorry Kris...for whatever reason I don't comment on pros' playing as much as my fellow amateurs. Maybe "why would they care what I think?"

I liked the first one better with the traditional tone (that's just my taste). The single note lines were really good and worth copying! The chords were good, but I liked the single note soloing better

No. Why else would you take the time to make long posts on the forum, or indeed post at all, were it not for the belief that someone reading it might care about what you have to say?

Pay very careful and exacting attention to the exact placement of the upbeats and the exact length of the notes. They aren't quite precise in your video.

The simplicity of the material is what makes it such a good exercise.

I'll take your word that they're not quite precise in my video. In my defence I hear discrepancy in how musicians play simple things on records e.g the not-quite-unison low C played by bass and keyboard that opens the piece 'Bitches Brew' on that album. It's part of the charm IMO.

I'll answer that. Why do you assume that one implies the other?

Yeah, make sure you catch the 'ands' in a consistent place. Most people who don't come from rhythm-centric cultures struggle with upbeats. (I mean I still have my issues lol, but I know when it's right.)

Ok, I hear that. I'll endeavour to be more consistent in the future, at least in this sort of context. I'm not sure what kind of musical culture I come from...

Eh? This is not an answer.

You said you don't care what people think. I said and yet you seem to think people care what you think. You said oh god a psychic, whereupon I pointed out the fact that you take the time to post here is evidence that you think people should care what you think. Since you reply to other people on here clearly you do in fact care what they think too.

So please, can we stop this puerile idiocy?
