Thanks, I've ordered a copy of the "Guitar Basics" book.

So soon, I'll be starting a forum "Guitar Basics" [User Group].

Thanks again, I find that there's too much irrelevant advanced BS concerning learning Guitar, so it's back to basics with "Guitar Basics" for me.

There's nothing wrong with the foundations and getting back to the "basics." Playing with those limitations brings out musical clarity, and it's much harder than it looks. Rhythmic intention doesn't necessitate rhythmic complexity.

There is an aversion to talking about rhythm with the same complexity as harmony. Not having the "language to talk about rhythm" is just an excuse. Plenty of places around the world have found a way. Especially for jazz, what is music without rhythm? What is "swing" without an understanding of rhythm?

I hope more drummers lead these conversations in the future. If music is three pillars--harmony, melody, and rhythm--there must be a way to give all pillars equal space in the music education continuum. I want to learn about rhythm because I want to learn how to turn all the shit I practice into actual music.
