I saw this question asked on the Telecaster forum and thought it was interesting enough to bring over to here.
So, if you're the type to understand questions and follow them, just one guitarist who is alive, please.

Julian Lage hands down.

Ben Monder

Kreisberg

Bill Frisell

Tim Lerch

Haven’t been able to decide since Jim Hall passed.
Probably Bernstein?

For a long time I wouldn't have said it, but maybe . . .
(Solo at 3:30 but don't skip to get there!)

Yamandu Costa

Very difficult to decide! Maybe Jesse Van Ruller..
-
Since I am not familiar with him, I checked out a few youtube videos. Thanks!

Dang, that's 3.
But Benson doesn't really play jazz guitar much anymore so I'm a little torn on this.

Pasquale Grasso

Kenny Burrell

I don't think I could get it down to 5, nevermind 1. Ten is a more reasonable number, and that would be very difficult.

Wow, what an impossible task.
I might go with Bob Weir, who plays guitar like nobody else on the planet. I always thought he was the more interesting of the two guitarists in the Grateful Dead, both in terms of his addressing the instrument and his role, but also frequently his songwriting.

Richard Harding, a UK based player. Not really a jazz player though.
Favourite jazz player - Julian Lage.

Ed Cherry

Since there is no strict jazz limitation then Tommy Emmanuel for sure
