Seems to me that Coltrane’s Equinox might have been inspired by Star Eyes? The intro is obviously derived from Bird’s, also the title is to do with planetary stuff, and even the melody has some similar rhythmic phrasing to Star Eyes.

Sounds like a deal. My plan was to learn it as close to Parker's version as possible anyway!

I got sick, then one of my dogs got sick. I’ve probably only practiced 4-5 hours this week. No time to make a video. I’ve got a 4 hour solo gig Friday I’m trying to prep for.

You gave it to the dog!
Get well soon. You too, Allan

Okay, I did another one. Can you tell which forum members videos I’ve been watching?

Hopefully it's a mild case of Bird flu and when you recover you'll find your ability to play be-bop is much improved, not sure how it will affect the dog though, maybe he'll start barking whenever he hears a Charlie Parker recording.

So here's "Blue Moon" which I actually have played several times in jam sessions many years ago. I love this tune.
For some reason the Fender Princeton Reverb amp is also scratching an itch for me.

Another more or less pure melody. Love this tune.

There are so many layers to this I don’t even know where to start

Has this thread had its day?
Anyway, here we go, just the melody of There Is No Greater Love, which is quite a nice tune. Which also spells tingle, as it happens...
Of course, proper jazzers speed it up and play it like there's no tomorrow. Don't know why, maybe they think slow stuff is boring, and maybe it is.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're referring to your background and guess Peter lol.

This is one I've concentrated comping/single notes in an 80/20 ratio. Every new comping trick I find I shove into Four and see how it goes.

I do my videos dark so that my fans don't mob me in the streets wherever I go. You know, all those jazz guitar fans wandering our streets...right, okay maybe 3 guys and a creepy stalker...

Thanks Peter. I did most of the arrangements on the EP with some input from Genevieve and I could easily taken the guitar chair but decided it would be better to give her some space.
The guitarist is a mate of mine, Sam Rollings here in Sydney. We regularly toss each other gigs and he did such a fine job on all the tracks.

Heres's Ladybird with one chorus of solo so that I could get to the shout chorus.
