It was more the rabid bit that interested me :-)

Changing one chord, the I chord, from a Major7 to min#7 in the first measure is not "doing it in minor." That's simply a harmonic voice-leading line from the Gm (6th-b7th-#7th) to the Fm6/9 (9th) - Bb7 (7th), which, as you said, is practically irrelevant if you're only playing the melody.

I mentioned the voice-leading lines in this tune when we played it in our chord melody study group:

And, I laughed at the thought that it might turn out this way. Maybe, I should have saved those leftover dreams, where is that worn out wish that I threw aside.

Don't let the words or vocal performance confine you. Pianists and guitarists have a huge advantage over horn players, namely, we are not confined by how long we can hold a breath. People talk like "natural" breathing is always good, but what we often like about bebop players is their endless lines of amazing phrasing. So do it all let your playing become plastic and malleable. Life is too short to delay getting to the instrument because of some set of artificial rules.

Good lord, I actually recognised the song from what you were playing. You must be doing something right -

Getting some sweet tone from that tele....I see you wrap your thumb over the neck too. So do I. I want to break that habit!

Joining the party a little late. Here’s Afternoon in Paris, a tune that for some reason gives me the yips. Good reason to practice it.

Here's a version of Rainy Day with vocal I posted some time ago. It does have the melody, but not just the melody. But it's more in the spirit of all the other recorded versions of the tune, rather than a post aligning with the original spirit of the thread.

The playing is very good and confident.

There are guitarists who love this Tele sound.
Now about the thumb of the left hand....gv noticed this.
When I went to music school, the teacher always told me - hide the thumb of your left hand.
This is what happened when I learned to play a classical guitar with a very wide neck.
In the case of guitars with a narrow neck, it's a bit different.
The most important thing is that the hand is loose and not tense.
Nevertheless, I try to hide the thumb of my left hand... at least I try.

Very good... everything is as it should be.

Definitive refutation of the old claim that jazz players don't use vibrato! You got one really delicious bend into a melody note in there. It's enough to make a guy use lighter strings.
