Peace Waiting. Peace is not tomorrow’s problem. Air, food, water by the minute, day and hour. Peace is the next most constant need, yet deprived for so long for so many. We must demand it every day of our leaders. Or ourselves. peace can not wait.

I enjoyed this much more than the news.

yeah, I hate “the news”. Makes me sick to my stomach.

“Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace” *
I would love to be wrong but I believe a hard rain is gonna fall.
Then, maybe my mood comes from voting in Alabama’s Jim Crow election this morning.
*Patrick Henry was urging the Virginia delegates to prepare a militia for the impending American Revolutionary War. He argued that a decade of peaceful petitions and supplications to the British Crown had been met with only violence and disregard. Because of this, he concluded that conflict was unavoidable, and submission to tyranny was not an option…

Peace won't ever be found in the world. It cannot, and does not exist there. The physical-material existence is antithetical to peace. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or just deceived.
-
What bleak philosophical strain of nihilism are you by pulling this from? Perhaps I’m a liar and a deceiver, but I’m not convinced in the slightest

I agree. Creatures are programmed to prioritize benefit. It takes actualization to understand that righteousness is the priority. Unfortunately the benefit network necessarily outrules peace. We can always strive for better tho.

This was true for a very long time, but fortunately we are living in a time when the ‘programs’ of violence ruling our world are no longer dominant. It will take awhile for the consequences of that to become apparent, but they will as the generations arise.

I'm happy to be educated (seriously) but I'm not aware of any human culture from any time / place that didn't do war & destruction.

Humans have been around for about 300,000 years. Most of that time there has not been war.

Several reasons, I won't make a list, we can all guess at least some of them (or might not agree on them) etc. etc. but, if anything, we are no longer fighting with bows and arrows, that's for sure, so if things escalate beyond a "point of no return", we might kiss goodbye to most humanity and civilization.
Beautiful piece of music and, as usual, beautiful playing, Mr. Kleinhaut.

I was responding to a point about war and destruction.

I know. The thread seems to be equating the absence of war with peace.

Or, simply, go peaceful. But the world is a complicated place.... or rather the world is a simple but tough place while human nature is complicated. Then (among other things) there's no peace without justice, etc. etc. etc. ad libitum ( Da Capo,Take Repeats).
