    What was that about?

I have to say that Reg certainly has chops and plays some nice phrasing over that beautiful chord progression that is the song's framework. I know that some musicians just love to get down in the weeds with discussions about chordal analysis and modes, and I am educated on musical theory, but my eyes just glaze over and my brain shuts down. To me delving excessively into modal playing or what scale to play over a particular progression is kind of just a waste of time. When I'm playing chord melody solo or improvising a solo, I don't think - I react to the music and play what I hear in my head and my heart. I always say that there are twelve tones in Western music and I use 'em all. Play from your heart.

You Don't Know What Love Is, and we don't know what the "blue note control system" is.
