Not bad! Maybe I'm just thinking of the overused and depressing ultra slow tempo version of the song that seems done to death. I like the Errol Garner version because it's so flowery and inspired, almost like a Tatum arrangement, but most of the times I hear it covered at 60bpm's and I just think "nooooooooo" inside, lol.

I like stella as a ballad
Sara Vaughan for vocal (the strings one)
Ben Webster for sax
Bud Powell for piano
Pasquale Grasso for guitar
Frank Sinatra for arrangement

I thought I'd had it up to here with Autumn Leaves. Went to hear a local quintet a few days ago. Trumpet and alto. They did the Miles and Cannonball arrangement and it was lovely.

The only way I can tolerate All of Me is by calling it my favorite song about dismemberment.

John Coltrane, hardly your *standard" coktail bar or function party type of player. A One Off in the history of human kind, F#@'n God! (.. If there should ever had been one!). Out of league when considering such petty talks amongst us poor mortals.
