    Long-time favorite of mine. Cool to see and hear this transcription. I never would have figured out the A string was lowered by an octave and that the solo was back to standard. Tal just really heard things differently than other players. Truthfully, I prefer Barney Kessel's chord melody work with liberal use of open strings a bit more, but Tal was a true innovator and his harmonic hearing and execution of chord melodies was ferocious. What a lot of work it must have been to figure this all out!

    Love that track so much I extracted 1:38-39 to be my mobile notification thunk since the last 10 years...

    Wow. The transcription graphics are nearly as amazing as the playing.

    This would be Tal with his es350 I assume?

    He plays the E string bass notes with his thumb (usually anyway) - what terrible technique!

    I was actually looking for the thread in which ragman was saying he found it hard to solo over this tune but I could not find it. That is understandable if he was trying to play it from the Real Book changes (which are not quite right).
