Interesting way to play, it is in standard tuning?

Totally weird looking. I can't figure out how he's fingering a lot of those lines.
Definitely very talented.
-
Sounds like E and A are octaves down
-
Never saw anything quite like it.

Just watched all 5 of his Master Class vids on youtube. The first 3 he's playing a DeArmond X-155 guitar, in standard tuning, and I'm hearing harmonies and voice leading and bass lines like Tal Farlow, combined with an organic finger style technique like Tuck Andress, and I'm laughing and thinking " this is just the craziest thing I've ever seen...or heard....." "Body and Soul" ....what was that....?.
And then he starts on a Strat with a midi pickup.....
-
Interesting right hand technique. Obvious chops but I couldn't help but wonder whether he and the "bass player" were in the same room. Time feel?

i think that he has a nice jazz conception
but
this is what people are talking about when they say that the right and left hands are not together
-
Pretty sure he is the bass player, too.

I couldn't make any sense out of it.

A circus act!......

The actual melody lines and harmonies are not bad, just that he plays at such a blistering (and monotonous) pace that it has a very off-putting sound to me. Nonetheless, the technique is 'different'. Like Pat Martino on steroids.
What does he sound like on a ballad?

lololol . . . that was a great line. Certainly got a chuckle out of me.

Might just be me . . but, not sure I've ever seen the right and left hand more cordinated and in sync with each other. Also, the sound he got out of strumming chords with multiple fingers (fingernails) on his right hand was quite interesting. Also, I agree with Stbatz and ecj . . the E and A were down tuned an octave and he was walking the bass with his thumb.

Yeah, he's got to be using midi to trigger those bass lines. His style.. not my cup o' tea.
-
Go watch his tutorial vids. He's definitely playing the bass lines.

No envy here, or scorn. I just don't get it. I don't understand. The audio is very poor. I can't make heads or tails out of it.

tried but couldn't get through it, just like I couldn't get through the video of the Polish street musician in the other thread
sorry, wasn't even remotely amazing to me.....

I agree . . it was a show off and fluff kinda performance. Nothing I'd try to emmulate or even pay to see. But, still the skill required set to pull it off is immence.

Incredible. Very cool video tutorial.
Edited to add - there are like a million of these out there. I have no idea why anyone would do that.
