An 18-minute demonstration by Tommy Emmanuel of how he came to be the incredible musician he is.

Thank you so much for posting this. What an incredible musician.
-
Tommy is the best of the unreal guitarists out there.
-
Tony Enamel is in a league of his own. I enjoyed that, thanks.

Great to hear so many of you say you enjoyed this. I was unfamiliar with Tommy Emmanuel before picking up a duet CD he made with Chet Atkins called "The Day Fingerpickers Took Over the World." Monster player, obviously, and a good entertainer.

A pro, at the top of the world. Jazzers could learn to have fun like he does, and would make a lot more money.
-
One of the world's best fretted instrument players and a uniquely joyful communicator.
-
Here's Tommy and Chet having fun with their "Ode to Mel Bay."
-
Going to see him next month (for the third time) with Martin Taylor. Tommy is at the top of my list for performing musicians. Steve Vai was once asked "who is the greatest guitarist in the world" and after saying how ri
diculous the question was said "if I had to pick one it would be Tommy Emmanuel"
-
He's going to be here in March. I can't believe it but exactly in that week I have to travel on business. What an incredible drag.
-
Tommy is a Force of Nature. I've seen him many many times over the years and he never fails to knock me out/ He is an Entertainer first who just happens to me one of the greatest acoustic guitar players on the planet.
-
He's playing here in San Diego next Saturday, a doubling billing with Martin Taylor.
-
I was lucky enough to record (video) him at one of our local elementary schools. He was just fantastic with the kids, too. He just seemed so laid back and easy going. Funny thing is, after hearing him, it just made we want to play more.
-
I'll be honest with ya, his music is so not my thing, but I got nothing but respect for him...and he seems like a likeable dude too.
-
Talk about a couple o' heavyweights! That should be an unforgettable show.

They did an album of duets last year. I saw MT in a double bio few years ago with Martin Simpson. They did some duets and some solo pieces going back and forth. It's a format that worked really well for both of them.

Is that a Maton?
-
I have no idea but your question reminded of the old vaudeville joke about a piano being a "Henway."

Yes. I've only ever seen him with a Maton.

Saw Tommy last night (21st) in Birmingham, he was amazing. One things for sure, he puts on a show. Not an expensive ticket either, great value for money. He doesn't fleece his fans unlike some other guys.

I saw him last September iin the Detroit area. Yeah it was a really cool show! I bought the pack of picks as a souvenir too lol
