Jesse van Ruller is a great guitarist.
I like his fat sound on Elferink guitar and his playing is fantastic.

Been a while since he's released a trio or quartet recording as a leader (not counting Chamber Tones -- no drums). JVR and PB are about as good as it gets, for my tastes...

Does anyone own the Chambertones records? The vids of the group on youtube are cool so wondering about the recordings.
Apparently there are two releases now but I only see one available through Jesse's site and at kind of a steep price.

I contacted Jesse and he said the newest Chambertones recording, 'The Ninth Planet', will be released in digital format sometime in May.

I'm sure Jesse is using his Gibson 150 on this one. I saw a recent picture of him with it and he's changed the pickups out for a set that seems to be the same as what's in his Elfrink.

I've seen them sell for as low as $2000.

Actually JP I just looked at that blonde 150 again and in the blurb it states that the nut is 1 11/16.

Would you mind contacting the seller and having them confirm the nut width? I went on a serious hunt for one of these about six months ago and was told repeatedly by vintage dealer after vintage dealer that Gibson never made these guitars with the 1 11/16" nut width. Originally Posted by Philco

335's from that era can be found with the slim nut width as well (I believe the Larry Carlton 335 has it too as he actually likes it). Fortunately there are plenty of 335's with the 1 11/16" nut width. Originally Posted by Philco

You should play one first though. You may actually like the 1 9/16" nut width as it's a subjective preference.
