I was quite surprised to come across this album

    Better Days Ahead

all solo guitar renditions of PM tunes

I respect both of them but I am not a great fan really

What I Iiked here is that JP plays it more in a traditional jazz guitarists way but at the same time keeps the key features of originals.
To me the result is that the tunes sound harmonically warmer and more fleshy that in a bit abstract and modal originals and most covers

If I remember correctly, that was his pandemic project.

I think those videos were recorded on his front porch at his vacation place (here in Minnesota known as "up at the cabin." Where I grew up, it was known as "up at the cottage." But then, where I grew up the plural of "you" was "youse.").

    On a 7-string nylon string…don’t see many of those…

Sounds great. I LOVE that album, have heard it a million times. Looking forward to hearing all his versions.

Is he using standard or some type of open tuning on last train home?
PS, John's love of songs and performing is always evident. Bill Moll told me once that John was simply "the whole package"...
