    yeah, grant obviously. his recording of old folks has his playing lined up perfectly with triplets. or blues in maudes flat from the same record. or my all-time favourite solo on falling in love with love. other than that maybe listen to horn players that have this kind of feel, like hank mobley or blue mitchell. a fun game to play is never to play anything on first impulse. always wait for the second or third one.

    no idea. probably upstrokes more than downstrokes. whatever gets the job done, i guess. if it sounds good you're doing it right.
