8:30 central time on a Wednesday evening. How many members are on this forum? I don't think it's enough to support 1654 people looking at one sub forum....?

I’m not at all disagreeing with you here but what are you getting at exactly? Do you feel like the numbers are fake or being used as a manipulation tactic? I’m genuinely curious.

It's bots scanning the internet.

It just seems like an enormous number of views when you look at the first 10 threads, the highest number of posts is just 60 responses. The next jump down is 30 responses and several threads having less than 10.
Of course I just saw the figure that this forum has over 95 thousand members. That strikes me as extraordinarily high given that short list of common regular posters I see reading through a variety of topics throughout this forum.

It's just guitar hopefuls from around the world spending their nights reading our amazing insights into gear and tone, don't be naive.

If you do an internet search for pretty much any piece of gear or gear topic that has even a tangential connection to jazz guitar it'll return threads from this sub-forum. World-wide at any given moment it's easy to image that there are thousands of people performing such searches and clicking on a thread here that turns up in the search results. And that's just people. No doubt there are vast numbers of bots scouring the web and landing here for other reasons.

I for one am heartened to think that out future Bot Overlords are taking a interest in jazz guitars, or at least germanium diodes.

I'm imagining a data center overloading because someone asks "What is swing?"

AI generates millions of bots. They scrape every available website, repeatedly. That's how AI gets its information. I've seen forums so overloaded with bots that they were unusable for days.
