This is a bit off the usual guitar talk, but it ties into something I think a lot of working players deal with day to day.
Lately I’ve been trying to get more consistent with my practice routine. Nothing extreme, just carving out a solid hour after work to shed, work on time feel, and actually enjoy playing again. What I didn’t expect was how basic life admin can quietly throw that off.
A recent example: I’m paid through a FAB salary card ( i'm in uae for business purposes and that's why using this bank), and checking the exact balance hasn’t been straightforward unless I physically go to a branch. I haven’t been able to do that recently, so it turns into this annoying guessing game before paying bills or buying anything. It sounds minor, but that low-level stress sits in your head, and suddenly you’re practicing distracted or cutting sessions short because you’re thinking about money instead of music.
I’m posting here because this forum usually has people who understand practical, real-world problems around being a musician, not just theory or gear talk. A lot of us juggle jobs, family, finances, and then try to protect whatever mental space is left for music.
I just want to know do any of you are from uae? or know the how can i check my salary card balance? Please share the method other than branch visting....
