It's a great site, thanks for posting!
When you see 7K songs, you start to get excited, but from what I can gather:
1)There are only songs that original sheet music collectors have; songs that were written up to the mid 60s, usually show tunes?
2) The changes that they use are only the original changes that the songwriters used?
This can be great, like when I had a session/rehearsal with a bass player the other night, we couldn't find the music to "Say It Isn't So" by Irving Berlin, and he has a ton of different Real Books on his tablet, so we couldn't do it. This site (SMS) has it, but the first chord symbol is a Gm, and if you look at the bass note in the piano part it has a Bb. I've heard the song, and I know it doesn't start on a minor chord, so you know that it's supposed to be a Bb6.
So it could be confusing if you just want to sightread a song like that.
If you want to play a song written by a great songwriter from the 60s like "Stoned Soul Picnic" by Laura Nyro, that won't be there either.
I know I'm asking for too much, because it's free, but is there any other free online site that has the melody and chords to songs like that?

I don't know of any sites like that, I only just discovered this one! (from a member here, Brent)

Nothing special, just me.

I like the voice-leading implied by Cole Porter's opening chords.
In Eb major, it's:
Eb^7 (pickup bar) | x-6-x-7-8-6 || > B^9 | x-6-x-6-7-6 | > Bb7 | 6-x-6-7-6-6 |
> | x-8-9-7-9-x | > | x-5-6-5-6-x | > Eb^7 | x-6-8-7-8-x |

Here’s another
To the whole “what’s the first chord?” question, I’m in the Ab major camp. That’s what’s in my head as I play, and I think of the subs I play more as inversions and extensions than as different chords. [apologies for the distorted recording].Last edited by John A.; 06-28-2026 at 09:23 AM.
