First time recording with this beauty. I should do an NGD post about this guitar but I'm afraid I would sound irrational because I'm still in nirvana after acquiring it last week.

Congrats on the Style A! Now you are among the few who know what the D'Angelico magic is all about. I have a 1937 Style A and can report that it is every bit as good as my 1935 Excel or my 1948 Style B. All of the D'Angelico secret sauce went into each guitar, no matter the level of trim.
Your fine playing showcases what your guitar can do. May she inspire your playing for many years to come.

Thank you so much!

Then last week I had the opportunity to try this one and a 1940 Excel under the same roof and both were the best archtop guitars I have ever played (they sounded and played so similar that I would't be able to tell them apart if someone blindfolded me). The Excel was way out of budget, but I knew that I needed this Style A no matter what I had to sell. So I sold my one-owner pristine 1952 ES-150 and a few other things and became the owner of this DA. Zero regrets and still can't believe what it does every time I pick it up.
