finding a 575 for $1000 or under would be a miracle right now. I have heard of them being under $1500, but never seen it. I am hopefully ordering an x150 tomorrow though. Goodluck on your search. From what I have read, check guilds, eastmans, vintage gibsons(if you don't mind non cutaway), heritage if you can afford it, and keep an eye out for ibanez artists guitars like the benson or pass models. If you do decide to go with a cheap $800 or less guitar, buy used on craigslist or ebay, as with most musical instruments when bought new they will lose half their value, and chances are if it is used someone may have had it set up (factory set up on these is usually the worst).
