    They don't make 'em like that anymore. Incredible. Same goes for BB King- especially early BB King.

    I don't hear bebop, but I do hear what you're talking about- what I could maybe call the first shade of the first bebop lick LOL.

    Louis is one of my favorite players of any genre, and easily one of my favorite jazz players, period. His autobiographies are highly recommended.

    Early BB King reminds me of Charlie Christian!

    The chromatic fragments in Louis' break remind me of Barry Harris fragments.
