    It was actually a close cousin of Kermit's. Kermit gave him his first big break. The story was, his cousin was having trouble getting started in the business, bad managers, tough life on the road, ingesting too many psychotropic butterflies and such.
    So Kermit wrote this song for him which featured his cuz playing along. It was named for him because the guitarist cousin's name was Grant Green.

    Probably Toots Thielemans, he played harmonica (mostly) and guitar on the show from 1969-1982.
