This is the 1960s Marcos Valle tune "Summer Samba," also known as "So Nice" and/or "Samba de Vera," performed live with a quintet at a street jazz festival in Japan. I'm using my Westville Aruba (fitted with rail pickups) into a Henriksen Blu Six. I think I first played this when I was in a wedding band in the 1980s and we used the old unofficial Real Book chart. I've also heard it as stereotypical elevator music in at least one mainstream movie! And seeing if there was already a version here, I found a thread discussing the changes.

When I started going to jazz jam sessions in Japan, what was widely in use was a two volume "Jazz Standard Bible," with about 500 tunes (many of which are also in the old Real Book). Those 500 JSB tunes are a good array of stuff to keep anyone busy in a jam, but when some of the older players had the Real Book, too, I though of dusting off my old copies and calling a few tunes from there for old times sake. "Summer Samba" was one of them. We had a lot of fun playing it at the jams with various musicians, and when an opportunity arose to participate in a regional street jazz festival, I suggested we give it a whirl. This was recorded by an audience member on a smart phone. I hope you enjoy it!
