New here. I was pondering which tune I should learn how to work with. Either Greensleeves or Scarborough Fair? I heard 'trane play Greensleeves & my mouth dropped. When I learned this tune, I never expected it to sound like he did it. With Scarborough Fair, Wes Montgomery's version is soo poetic. I can't get enough of it. I will try to post here & practice more. Cheers!!!

Both are great tunes to explore playing chord melodies on. I've been playing my guitar teacher's great arr. of Greensleeves since I took lessons with him, when I was 14 years-old. It sounds like a Johnny Smith arr.
June 9th I'm getting a big band arr.I did of SF played by a great big band I play in. It features solo trombone playing the melody acapella in the beginning, and I have to make a choice between two excellent trombone players to play the solo part. One of them is gonna be mad at me...
