This tune is one of the most consequential masterpieces of its era, but still has deep timeless impact for anyone willing to get inside of it. Needless to say, I love making it my own

Great again Mark. I am currently trying to make my own version of this one. Unfortunately, I am limited by my skills. But I still enjoy it. Your rendition is inspiring.

Thanks for asking. Week #2 (Wednesday) has been more painful than #1 though that seems to have leveled off and I’m not dead, so…. All good

Thanks, did your experience include sleep deprivation? I’m resting as much as possible but the actual sleep periods are very short, about an hour and never more than 2 consecutive.

Mark, for most everyone, research has shown that a complete sleep cycle is 1.5 hours (to go through all sleep stages), so try to obtain that minimum - just one hour will not work.

I discovered a long time ago that I can do well with 4 to 6 hours sleep at night if I also take a 1.5 hour nap later in the day (these times are approximate). That is, the sleep cycle can be divided up but it must be done efficiently. How you feel and function during the day will tell you if your cycles are long enough.

P.S. - The conversation matches the thread title for once.

I thinking I’m getting 2 full cycles per night and then shorter useless ones where I keep snapping awake. During the day my feelings vacillates between punchy, grumpy and plain exhausted. I did get nap in this afternoon but I don’t think it was quite 90 minutes.

Well, pain and pain meds can interfere with your sleep cycle, and spine related pain is about the worst.

We do what we can, this too shall pass.

Well it's a long time ago '93 and '06. I remember that I couldn't move spontaneously. That means waking up first, then turning and trying to sleep again. After two sleep cycles, I stayed awake. Again, patience Mark. Take your rest and sleep a little during the day to catch up.

Thanks- fortunately (and I really have to say this can’t be overstated) I am able to play guitar for several hours a day, with many breaks of course, so my chops are actually improving. I’m actually not even noticing hand pain anymore with all the meds- so that’s a big deal for me
