Hello, I’m sharing this backing track that I made years ago, but I’ve remixed it and recorded a double bass. It’s not very complex, but you need to master several scales if you want it to sound good. Enjoy

Would love to hear how you produced this track? Is it a live band? Or produced using a DAW and virtual instruments?

I use Cubase as my DAW. I played the electric guitar and the double bass myself. The drums are made with Superior Drummer 3, and the piano with Noire from Native Instruments

The drums are particularly nice. How much of them are 'played' vs using pre-programmed grooves?

I also play the drums, but these rhythms are programmed by me, and others are pre-programmed, and I modify them to my liking.
I start with a pre-programmed rhythm and then remove snares, adjust the bass drum, change a crash...

They sound great, nice work. There’s a dearth of quality videos on how to get good jazz drum tracks out of tools like SD3. If you ever create one let us know. Would happily subscribe.
