One of the most beautiful things I ever heard. You are a master, Mark.

Hiw do you do your video work? Looks so nice with multi angles. That must be difficult to set up....multi cameras, editing, etc?

I was, at least for a decade, maybe longer, before he showed up. I’ve always used my full real name in every online platform.

I have a Halfling that I’ve on again off again thought about selling for $5k- which is the low end for what these will ever go for. Nice guitar but I never play it because the others are, well, nicer.

Video work has become a hobby I enjoy. The setup in my little home studio stays fixed in place so there’s no setup. Like many things it started small with just direct recording to an iPhone. Now, the setup consists of 4 mounted cameras. Dedicated ipad remote controller and two computers (one for audio and one for video) 8 lighting panels, a couple of green screens, a couple of black fabric felt screens, a few mics and guitar amp. All of the audio is mixed in Digital Performer (MOTU) and all video editing is done with Davinci Resolve. The editing is all about the green screen removal, cropping and fading between cameras and color balancing. I NEVER edit the actuall performance. Every video is exactly as played in a single take. No punching in/out snipping or comping. If the take has too many flaws I just play another one.

    Wow!

I admire the control, discipline, and economy of your technique.

But beyond that, I'm inspired by the beauty of your results.

    That was wonderful.

    Thank you

I really do miss it - it was great while it lasted. I learned quite a bit while on that forum at a time when such information wasn't as easy to come by as it is today - and who could forget the "music is horizontal" war between Jimmy B and Joey Goldstein?

My real name is Russ Letson, which might cause a double-take for some here, as I know there is another poster on this forum with the same name.

I believe he and I had a chat via email (phone?) back in the early '90s when I was using a 286 PC with an amber monitor on CompuServe. I looked up everybody with the same last name and saw that there was a guy with the same name that was also a guitar player!

The Letson musical gene is strong!
