Billy Strayhorn wrote "Sophisticated Lady" for the Duke Ellington songbook. Here's my rendition on a rainy late November morning.

So many mistakes, so little time
I mean, if I could only be happy had I played things perfectly I’d have quit long ago. I know my stoic demeanor hides me laughing this stuff off. Stub the toe, keep going. Bang into a wall, just keep moving. All crappy things seem to be followed by the good stuff, at least until we smack face first into the glass again, and the cycle repeats.

What mistakes? I find none. That seems like a difficult piece to get through for anyone, and you played it extremely well.

Hi Mark, beautifully played as always. Stillness and pause are great allies! Thanks (again) so much for posting your music.

Thanks so much for listening to this and so many of the other videos I drop here. If I pushed myself I could do a new one every day, but that would well exceed the bandwidth of anyone interested enough to listen. Thanks again!
