This isn't 'constant' but it is mostly eighth notes and it is Dorian based -

I'm really trying to get back to basics (as suggested by my last post!), and I'm looking for some inspiration. I'm trying to get used to being able to shed a Dorian scale with constant 8th notes, but trying to make it swing. I wonder if anyone can recommend any recordings to hear what that should sound like - Guitarists only for the moment (unless you have an example of another instrument that rips!).
I think it's got to be Pat Martino. Great pocket and definitely an 8th note guy lol.

It should be noted that Pat Martino was an alternate picker, so take that, you evil economy pickers! LOL!

"Constant" 8th notes, sure ...but consistent? Hardly. The only "swing" that resembles is a poo-flinging macaque at the zoo.

    Temporally sloppy. No bueno.

Go back to Pat Martino, please.

hah. contrary to public belief pat only attacks about two thirds of the notes he plays anyway. so there is actually far less alternating going on than you might think. add to that a fair amount of economy sweeping (yes he does) and he is not your average alt picker at all.

Pat Martino's driving attack is phenomenal with those incredibly relentless 8th note lines.

But, he does have a slight pause every so often, he was only human after all, look at the 8th notes he played in his classis solo on "Just Friends".

Definitely one of the top ridiculous and arrogant comments I have seen on this forum in 10 years.
