I tried my 1st ribbon mic today and I am sold. I had only tried dynamic mics and condensers and really didn't like dynamic mics and am kind of salty at condensers. Ribbon mics seem to have the perfect balance of warmth and clarity. I just went on Sweetwater and got a cheap one with 5 star rating. It's exactly what I wanted. So happy with it. I have an expensive condenser that I might keep, but this thing sounds better. I'm sure it would sound good for recording guitar.
I used it for talking on my Open Studio classes which are zoom calls. I ran the piano direct and I think the sound quality was way better than using the pos computer mic lol. Some people put their laptop or tablet on their acoustic piano and it's distorted as hell lol.

Ribbon mics are the bomb. I like that guy's playing.

Nothing like ribbons. I’ve owned a lot over the years. What did you get BT?

The link in the op that says it doesn't work but is working for me when I click on it. This: Golden Age Project R1 Active Mk3 Ribbon Microphone. I just went on Sweetwater and got an inexpensive one with a 5 star rating. Wondering how much better expensive ones are.
