Lesson - Dirty, Insane, Nasty Pat Martino bent triplet! Continuation of 7 Steps to Pat Martino

This lick is really simple but tricky. I had to slow it down to half speed to figure it out back in the late '70s. (For young cats, that was before digital slow-down devices) I learned this off a Tascam 2340 reel to reel!

It's a really cool lick that can be used for inside/outside playing or for 2-5-1 as I demonstrate in this video.

You're right, Jack: this lick is simple but tricky.
And yeah, I've heard Pat play this one a lot!

Yeah... if there were just 7 steps to get there I would've arrived in '73 :-)

Thanks for these Jack. Copping licks is kinda new to me, and it's fun!

Learning to play them myself is a challenge so it's really helpful for me, too!

And that's the main reason I'm into it. I doubt I'll ever use any of these verbatim, but they're leading me into new territory. Like... never in a million years would I have thought of shifting my index down 3 frets like in... can't remember which one just now. The one you *HAVE* to know I think. I use all kinds of other shifts, but never done it like that. Down or up.

New ways of playing = new directions and new music.

I'm working on an ascending version now. Very challenging.

Yes, Jack, I was wondering if that's one you came up with or if it was a Pat Martino move?

I stole this off of his version of Oleo!
