John looking and sounding great.The two loudest "jazz" concerts i ever went to was in the 70's with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Larry Coryell's Eleventh House.

Herbie Hancock said the same thing about a Central Park Mahavishnu concert and regretted doing it, as it hurt his ears, lol. Of course he and John collaborated at least once later.

I once saw JM in NYC in the early '80s. He was playing several shows at the Bottom Line as I recall. I went to the first show and it was so loud that I felt like I could hear the second show the next day from my apartment that was in Chelsea. Not kidding.

I saw him with the One Truth Band, late 70s? College town bar. Played so loud and so intensely all night, and without slowing down a bit. Practically made the walls crack.
