Many thanks Christian. Really nice content and pacing. A lot of material. I haven't enjoyed the content and presentation of this type of video as much for a long time. Probably the last time was the Emily Remler 'two types of dominant' video.

When it comes to chord-melody a lot of emphasis is placed on harmony, reharmonization and chord voices. The study of textures is not discussed very often. That surprises me because textures are what turn a lead sheet into a creative arrangement. I've recently started doing something similar to what you present in the video. I've been analyzing short segments of chord-melody transcriptions and even classical guitar arrangements to discover new texture ideas.

There are a few jazz guitar textures that pretty much every skilled chord-melody arranger/improviser use. Block chords, alternating lines with chord stabs (it's common that chords precede lines but as you say it's very effective to do the opposite also), suspended chord grips below melody lines, inner lines, bass-notes against melody interspersed with occasional middle voices.

It's really fun to explore new textural ideas, turn them into exercises and apply them to tunes as you show in the video.

I haven't watched all your many videos, Christian, but from what I have viewed, this one must be one of your best. I'll now go and split a few chords, and add some funny notes!
