This was streamed live tonight. If there will be an alternative link available I will post it. (Remind me in case I forget about it!)

FWIW, Arte videos can be downloaded with a programme called Captvty (MSWin only).

I use MediathekViewWeb to download videos from Arte and 3sat as I am on Linux mainly (it should generally work with any browser on any OS). It seems to work in the USA but not in Canada due to DRM issues. So I doubt Captvty (there are instructions how to run it on MacOs and Linux but that might be a little complicated for some) will work in Canada but it is worth a try.

Anyway — here is the MediathekViewWeb link to the Stochelo Rosenberg concert (according to the Arte website the video will be online until October 7th 2023):

But playback on the Arte site works? In that case you'd need to use a French or German VPN service.

Someone called Rosenberg playing a petite-bouche suggests gypsy jazz, but that seems not to be the case here?

The Arte website works only in some countries in Europe, MediathekViewWeb works in the USA as well, in Canada nothing works, VPN might be a good idea; I tried HideMyAss with a German proxy but I could not get the video running, maybe it does not work because I am in Germany myself.

    J’comprends pas. C’est quoi, une petite-bouche?

That confirms my suspicion that the geo-fencing is done at the website level, which makes it strange that direct download of the actual content doesn't work in Canada (unless the remote servers in question are blocked).

I would not be surprised if a geo-fencing website also knows to detect and cripple or disallow video playback for VPN users; with luck that will not be the case with a direct download of the content.

Ok I see. Yes he is playing a gypsy style guitar but w/ a Humbucker through a Yamaha Jazz Chorus which yields a nice sound. Stochelo and Jermaine are of course imprinted by their tradition but what they play here is modern straight-ahead I would say. I really enjoyed it though I found Jermaine’s use of a string synth sometimes a little cheesy, too smooth-jazz-ish. I would have prefered an organ sound. Yet great musicianship throughout.
