John Stowell trio - Footprints

Love everything about Stowell's comping and solo (4'30) in this performance. Superbly weighted phrasing and setting the mood with the landing notes (you may have a more technical way of defining that). Sax and bass also great, though maybe would have asked the drummer to use brushes.

fantastic player. I’ve performed duo with John a dozen times (and made a CD too even) and can affirm that every note he plays always lands perfectly. His level of mastery is incredible!

There are other tunes from the same gig and the drums are, for me, too prominent. Could be a problem of mic placement, but he's definitely on the "busy" side. Anyway, John is wonderful thoughout.

Mark, is there a video of that collaboration? Would be good to see.
