Taylor and Vignola opened for The Brubeck Brothers tonight at the Camden Opera House here in Maine.
I was so pleased to see Vignola come out with a big Gibson acoustic archtop, no pickups, no knobs, no cables - just a mic pointed at the exhaust vent (f-hole). He sounded brilliant. And Martin Taylor sounded like Martin Taylor: magnificent.

Frank is simply amazing. Boundless energy ... the man never sleeps.

Frank is one of my favorite guitarists.
Often performs with Jimmy Bruno these days.
-
Frank and Jimmy have been performing together, off and on, now and then, for many years. They were once part of the Concord Jazz Guitar Collective, along with Howard Alden, which recorded a few albums. They were all also featured Benedetto artists, although AFAIK Howard is the only one still regularly playing a Bennedetto. Frank is probably my least favorite of the three, although not my much. He's been growing on me.

I was up there and missed it by a day.

Looks like another mic pointing at Frank’s left shoulder, but there are many mics on the stage, so it could be coincidental.
