few may know, larry carlton is a super chord melody player..(of course, he studied with joe pass..)

I highly recommend a record by Joe pass and Ella Fitzgerald called "Fitzgerald & Pass… Again". Great chemistry between the two, if you can't get the album check out the duo on youtube, here is a tune from that album.......

Laurindo Almeida. Outra Vez is a spectacular album with a rhythm section.
Easy and Wonderful: Laurindo Almeida - Outra Vez (Once Again)
Almeida's solo LP Concerto De Aranjuez is long out of print but reissued on an unfortunately costly Japanese reissue CD. Superb chord melody playing.

I know I get monotonous about this, but Peter Bernstein is probably the best to me. He does some really out stuff, doesn't have a fully solo album, but a lot of his albums have really nice CM intros, and his Monk album has two solo songs (Monk's Mood and Ruby, My Dear). I'm working on a Pannonica Chord Solo, drawing some ideas from his.

- Ed Bickert
Cal Collins
Eddie Duran
