Grappelli is playing his butt off here! In 1981, I had the pleasure of seeing him in Boston with Martin Taylor and Marc Fossett on guitars. One can only wonder on how Django would have been playing in the 70s and 80s. Stephanie was razor sharp and playing better than ever.

The tour with Grisman, and Marc O'Connor on guitar, was released as an album. I had it on cassette. Really hot playing. Tiny Moore played his 5-string e-mando on Satin Doll.
I saw him in DC in the 70s in a small club, backed by the Diz Disley Trio. Then I saw him in 1982 after he had begun touring with Martin Taylor. I noticed his violin was different, not the Amati with that sweet, dark tone, and asked him after the show. He had acquired a Montagnana. Nice!

I really like that Tiny Moore solo. I bought that CD many years ago, and I've listened to the Satin Doll cut many times more than the rest.
