I was just listening to that album yesterday. He gets a really great tone with that 347.I've said this before on here,it really surprises me he doesn't get more mentions on this forum,he is a truly outstanding player. The Wes tribute he did on PBS awhile back was really well done.

I used to split gigs with him at a restaurant in Manhattan that featured jazz back around 2004 when he was still living in the Slope.
I went to a jazz clinic he gave at Brooklyn College later on. I understood every note he was playing until he played this incredible 16th note thing that lasted for the entire bridge of Satin Doll. It was obviously worked out, but who cares; it blew my mind! Seems like nice, humble dude.
He said that he would be scuffling around like everyone else if some rich Japanese guy didn't dig his playing, and fund his records.

Dave is great, very underrated. Anyone who is into Martino and/or organ trios should check him out.

True, he was in Jack Mcduff's band back in the day so...
