I learned about this record earlier this year looking for Stitt + organ (my favorite genre of jazz rn) records.
When I first hear the record, I didn't see GG in the credits and assumed it was Benson but something was simpler, funkier, more oldschool than typical benson. Anyway, looked up the credits and it turned out to be GG. To me his playing is so different from his usual playing on standards, leans way more into the blues and grooves very hard. Feels less 8th-note-y.
Also he comps a lot on this album. Nothing fancy, but worth noting since people always say he never comped.

I've had those and all of Stitt's/Pattersons lps forever, organ trios are my jam
My own trio plays those tunes and that arrangement of ARB. I'm not sure there's a bigger fan of Don Patterson than yours truly, he just doesn't get the props Jimmy Smith Jack Mcduff and other greats do but he's incredible and was Stitt's organist for 10 years.
I hear you about GG and comping, not just on that record, he does it more than people think but usually very quietly in the background.

huge don patterson fan here. he was *the* bebop organist. brothers-4 has some of the fastest GG playing, too.

For me this is the ultimate Patterson Lp, w his usual trio of Pat Martino and Billy James

I love jack mcduff but don p is vastly underrated. Also wild bill davis. The best jazz after the 50s all happened with a b3 in the group.
